Agnes Obel
This stunning Danish singer/songwriter has stolen my heart,
Take a listen -a dear friend of mine recently introduced me to her music and now I am completely hooked!
Her rambling melodies and moody voice create the perfect 'melt in your mouth' moments that (and I'm sure you'll agree) make the world suddenly feel rather small and insignificant.
Agnes grew up just north of Copenhagen in a small village called Gentofte, fittingly home to the worlds oldest surviving amusement park, from an early age Agnes learned to play the piano and in 1987 she joined a small band as a singer and bass player, she later went on to found the Copenhagen based rock band Sohio.
Since 2005 Agnes has lived in Berlin after finding Copenhagen to be "a too small city, too chocking.''
Obel got her big break in 2009 when A telecommunications company used one of her demos "Just So" in an advertisement.
